When you are in album mode, mark some pictures and press Ctl-L to compare them
in lighttable, only the last one is displayed in the right hand window. You
have to do a lot of manual dragging and dropping first before you can start to
do the real work. I think that the lighttable has to be changed ergonomically,
and it should be communicated a sample work flow how to use it.
