Would you mind to submit the fix? This patch is a definitely the right thing to do even if the issue still reproducible. There is no other way to fix it and I'm hitting the issue on my own so I would like to have your fix in 18.12.3 and we have literally one day to do that as the release tag will be made at the Monday.
