I would also like to report the same issues with the QT5 update to 5.12.0.
While I was using QT5 5.11 there were no flickering issues, but once I updated
to QT5 5.12.0 the flickering issues started for me too. I am using FreeBSD 12
stable, with the Intel driver. By switching to the modesetting driver, the
issue stopped for me. I didn't try to switch the compositor to XRender from
OpenGL. I just switched the driver from Intel to modesetting. I would also like
to point out there is a thread on the Mageia Bugzilla website that describes a
very similar issue to this. It's probably the same issue.
