Nobody is telling otherwise. Still, most distros want a BZ on their systems
before upgrading packages, and they have their own QA policies. Often, it means
to have a separate "testing/unstable" repositories where new versions are
places in order for users to test.

Dunno. You have to ask to the past maintainer. Yet, there were *hundreds* of
bugs opened against older Kaffeine versions due to Xine by the time I started
working on it. So, I suspect that the reason is that it was causing too many
troubles, but I may be wrong.

The best maintained MPEG-TS and audio/video decoding project nowadays are
libVlc and GStreamer. I would myself stick with one of them.

I don't know myself how MuMuDVB decode video standards.

The beauty of Linux is that anyone can do that, or to write a completely new
GUI for MuMuDvb, including you.

I don't foresee any work from my side on that, as a change like this is complex
and I simply don't have enough time.
