While editing text files (tabular text, for example), it is often useful to see
how many lines are selected. Similar is the use case for showing how many
characters in a line are selected. The latter is already available by enabling
'show word count' in configure > appearance.
However, no such option exists to see how many lines are selected. The only way
to determine that is to enable line numbers in the border, note down the
starting and ending line number of the selection and calculate manually.
It will be useful if Kate/KWrite can display the selected line count in the
status bar.
