Bug ID: 402587 Summary: Firefox snap package launched from Task Manager uses $HOME/.mozilla instead of $HOME/snap Product: plasmashell Version: 5.14.3 Platform: Debian testing OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Task Manager Assignee: h...@kde.org Reporter: erfan...@protonmail.ch CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 - Description I installed Firefox snap package, and opened it from the menu and right clicked in its icon in the Task manager and pinned it. Then I closed it, and opened it again; this time by clicking on its icon in the Task Manager. The "first-run" window showed up again, and Firefox was using the system theme. I checked, and it indeed was using the $HOME/.mozilla directory rather than $HOME/snap/firefox/common/.mozilla directory. It does not happen when launching Firefox from the menu. The same is true for Chromium snap package. Same thing happens when using Icons-only Task Manager. I tested in Debian Buster and openSUSE Tumbleweed, both produce the same results. This does not happen in GNOME desktop. Another problem with this approach is that when snapd updates Firefox, launching it from the Task Manager opens the old version, not the updated one, unless unpinned and pinned again. - STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install Firefox snap package 2. Open Firefox snap package from the menu 3. Right click on the icon in the Task Manager and click on Pin 4. Close Firefox 5. Open Firefox again, this time by clicking on its icon in the Task Manager - OBSERVED RESULT Firefox uses $HOME/.mozilla instead of $HOME/snap/firefox/common/.mozilla to store user profiles. - EXPECTED RESULT Firefox should use $HOME/snap/firefox/common/.mozilla to store user profiles. - SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Distribution: Debian Buster, openSUSE Tumbleweed KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.3, 5.14.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.51.0, 5.53.0 Qt Version: 5.11.2, 5.12.0 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
