Hi Mike, I'm a bug triager.
It's been a while for this bug. I looked at the current version of Konsole
(18.08.1) and see that you can set the TERM variable within Konsole Profiles.
If you go to Settings > Edit Current Profile and click the Edit... button where
it says Environment:, you can set the TERM= variable. I set mine to ansi,
restarted Konsole, and ran 'echo $TERM'. It appears to stick.
Could you give that a try and let us know?
