They love tinkering with adding other crap to kde, but leave core functionality like multi-display broken at the best. I usually try a fresh kde a couple times a year under arch linux, see it's *still* broken, and go back to whatever DE sucks less at the time. Typically Cinnamon lately, at least it doesn't throw my windows around every day my displays power on, and compositor far more stable than I've ever seen kwin to last even a week before freaking out.
