Bug ID: 399316 Summary: Elisa Music Player missing packages to make it actually play audio. Product: neon Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Packages User Edition Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org Reporter: griffinval...@gmail.com CC: j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org, sit...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Not sure if this is a Neon problem or a problem in Elisa, but it is a packages problem, so I figured I'd try Neon first. If I install Elisa from Discovery on KDE Neon user edition based on 18.04, Elisa doesn't give any playback. This might be because gstreamer is not being installed. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install Elisa from discovery. 2. Open Elisa, select any track. 3. Press play. OBSERVED RESULT No music will be heard, and the audio plasma widget doesn't say any program is playing audio, despite Elise visibly going over the track. EXPECTED RESULT Music being played. SOFTWARE VERSIONS (available in About System) KDE Neon 5.13 KDE Plasma Version: 5.13.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.50.0 Qt Version: 5.11.1 Kernel: 4.15.0-36-generic ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Trying to find any solution led me to try and install Brasero, after which Elisa started to work. Installing brasero installs gstreamer, which I vaguely recall is necessary for using Qt Multimedia on Ubuntu based systems, so I suspect this is the missing link for getting Elisa to play back on KDE Neon. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
