I get the problem with both the list based and the picture based versions.

The list based version always floats above the taskbar with a gap

The picture based version sometimes floats above the task (and works, being no
gap) and sometimes floats above the taskbar and doesn't work (because of the
gap).

It is hard to work out why this isn't consistent but I think if the first time
the pictures are activated (mouse hover) once the mouse has entered the taskbar
then thry float above the taskbar with a gap.  If I hover on something, get a
picture and then hoover on something else before I leave the task bar the
pictures hover above the button (no gap).

I have two rows of task buttons (not sure if this makes any difference).
