It seems that the date Digikam uses is variable. In some cases, if "Digitization date" is set manually, that's the date that Digikam uses (overriding "Creation date and time" and "Original date and time"), but in some other cases, "Creation date and time" prevails over "Original date and time" and "Digitization date and time". But I haven't found why yet.
