I have been waiting for KDE Neon based on Ubuntu 18.04 to check. Now still can't get access to my iPhone from Kubuntu 18.04.1 nor from Neon based on the same version of Ubuntu. When i plug in my iPhone to my PC it prompts me to trust this device. I agree and nothing happens. If i unplug and plug iPgone again nothing happens. Recently bought iPhone 8 Plus for my wife and it can't be seen in Dolphin too. I tried every USB port on my PC. No luck.
