The current sound settings, as they present themselves after the crash.

Not sure exactly what started the issue, but a new installation of Kdenlive
won't fix it either.

Environment:

Core i5 Quad-Core @3.2 Ghz
12 GB RAM
ASUS 550ti

I'll go through the steps that led me here:
I originally had been running 17.12.0. However, I checked the site and found a
new version! I joyously downloaded the new update and... no sound now.
"Previous version worked fine literally minutes ago," I thought to myself as I
decided to go back to the previous install (Different folder, I had kept both
as a precaution). Sadly, the sound would no longer play while previewing video
there either.

And so I go to check the settings. I didn't change anything, but I did check
the dropdowns to see what was there. Nothing was changed. I even hit cancel, as
I couldn't figure out what was going on.

I try going back to the new version. Maybe a new option in there? nope. As soon
as I loaded it back up, there was an ominous message:

"Could not create the video preview window.
There is something wrong with your Kdenlive install or your driver settings,
please fix it."

Well, I updated my video drivers. I tried completely deleting Kdenlive and
starting from scratch. Nothing brings me back to the fine, productive program
it once was. The sound settings have completely reverted to being blank, and no
combination seems to work to remedy the issue. I have attached a graphic of the
settings as they now present themselves. And this continues across multiple
instances.
