Yes, the cause was a Qt issue that is now fixed with Qt-5.11. I close this bug
as a duplicate of Bug 263347. Here, with a recent Linux distribution, the
problem no longer exists. Note that it will take some time until digiKam with
>= Qt-5.11 is available for your distribution. Before that, our AppImage with
Qt-5.11 will certainly be available.
