Bug 332065 hints that metadata *should* be available when file indexing is disabled. In my case, I tried tweaking all settings and could never get any EXIF metadata to show for photos with indexing disabled. So is the resolution of bug 332065 "WONTFIX" in the end? Or should it be possible to get file metadata without having baloo indexing (possibly by rescanning all files of the currently opened folder to display the metadata, would be fine by me).
