In a recent update the desktop fails to start.
Plasmashell can't initialize correctly due to an error in
libactivityswitcherextensionplugin.so:
/usr/bin/plasmashell: symbol lookup error:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/qml/org/kde/plasma/activityswitcher/libactivityswitcherextensionplugin.so:
undefined symbol:
_ZN11KActivities15ActivitiesModelC1ERK7QVectorINS_4Info5StateEEP7QObject
Workaround: move the file so plasmashell doesn't find it, the desktop is able
to start but activities, desktop wallpaper and icons are disabled, but the
panels and widgets work.
in a TTY type:
sudo mv
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/qml/org/kde/plasma/activityswitcher/libactivityswitcherextensionplugin.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/qml/org/kde/plasma/activityswitcher/libactivityswitcherextensionplugin.so.bak
The error appeared in a recent plasma-desktop update
