This is a Qt binaries issue, which take place in Ubuntu and derivatives only,
so your post is not for here.
As workaround you can unpack the image, add the absolute path to the unpacked
directory in „qt.conf“ and run it from that directory.
By the way, the AppImage also works if run it as root, but of course that is
not recommended.
