Since the QSG issue has fixed in Qt 5.9.4 and 5.10.0, I nominate that we close 387341 (that is about a VRAM memory leak with QSG_RENDER_LOOP=basic and MESA drivers, as we now know) as resolved upstream and return the discussion of this thread to the RSS memory leak with the nVidia binary drivers.
