So this whole thing has got quite messy.

There was this bug:

This as reported I'm 99% sure is fixed.

We've also got a bug about high CPU, to do with stopped animation drivers not
getting removed.


If you're running < Qt5.10 or < 5.9.3 upgrade now so you have them and don't
confuse this report.


Please also report if you're using the basic or threaded render loop. You can
find out by running QSG_INFO=1 plasmashell and reading the output.

Something like: "10:19:03.848 qt.scenegraph.general: QSGRenderLoop::instance
threaded render"

narrow that down and it'll help.

Also please download the sample QML file in
https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-61754 and report on whether that gives
you issues.
