Hi,

Here we have the trigger which activates my mistake of 2009.
I wonder why nobody noticed the problem on Gentoo.

Regrettably packages.gentoo.org yields error 500 today.
But i will later try to talk the package maintainer out of option
"track-src-odirect" and to find out since when cdrskin is broken on Gentoo.

Yes it's clear meanwhile that only zeros were written. Usage model "SAO":
Once started, do not stop before the planned end of the burn is reached.

I still ponder how to close this pitfall. There are pros and cons
to weigh about the model of SAO, which cannot be aborted early, and TAO
which can be aborted until the first WRITE command was sent to the drive.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

As said, for me the following works even if the program was built
with configuration option --enable-track-src-odirect :

  cdrskin -v dev=/dev/sr0 fs=32m -eject -waiti - <image.udf

Have a nice day :)

Thomas
