Bug ID: 359565 Summary: Drag and drop functionality inconsistent with file manager behaviour Product: ark Version: 2.19 Platform: unspecified OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: elvis.angelac...@kdemail.net Reporter: s...@ice-d.com CC: rak...@freebsd.org When extracting a file via drag and drop if the file is in a directory hierarchy in the archive then the hierarchy is created in the destination folder for the destination file. The expected behaviour is that the drag and drop functionality to be the same as dragging and dropping between folders in a file manager (such as dolphin). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open an archive with a file(s) in a folder hierarchy 2. Expand the hierarchy to display the file. 3. Click and drag the file into a file manager to extract it. Actual Results: The folder hierarchy is created then the file is extracted to match the hierarchy in the archive. Expected Results: When selecting a file or folder the selection should be placed directly into the destination directory rather than creating the archive hierarchy. I find the current behaviour inconsistent with how you would expect file managers to work with dragging and dropping, but I do realise this behaviour may come down to personal preference. As such, adding an option to toggle between current and the requested behaviour, rather than changing the current behaviour, might be necessary. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
