Could you please set up an email alarm and then attach your KAlarm configuration file (in ~/.kde/share/config/kalarmrc or ~/.config/kalarmrc or some similar directory), and also your calendar file (to find out its location, select menu View -> Show Calendars, and then right click on the active alarm calendar and select Show Details - the location is labelled "File:").
