I can confirm that with Qt 5.10.0 the issues does indeed appear to be resolved.
Current system is:
OS: Arch Linux x64
KDE Plasma Version: 5.11.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.41.0
KMail Version: 5.6.3
I have also tested this on two other systems with the same specifications as
above.
