It seems that some code in QImageReader is confused by the clipboard contents.
Could you try to copy some text from a text editor to the clipboard (just
select text and press Ctrl+C) and check if that helps?
You are using rather outdated software, by the way, so the easiest way to fix
the problem might be to upgrade to something more recent.
