Bug ID: 386555 Summary: FolderView / Icon cache : previous PNG custom icon remains after change Product: plasmashell Version: 5.11.2 Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Folder Assignee: h...@kde.org Reporter: ma...@free.fr CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 Hi ! I stumbled upon a very specific problem with the Folder View icon cache apparently. - I created in the applications menu a new entry for a game that was provided in a zip file (From Humble Bundle). I chose a custom PNG icon on my disk. I linked the desktop file to my "games" folder view. - It was displayed properly but I figured out I chose the wrong icon so I edited my application entry and chose a different PNG icon --> for some reason, the old icon is still displayed in the folder view (this folder view is linked to a directory that contains some of my games desktop files). I tried rebooting, removing / readding the shortcut... HOWEVER : - the NEW icon is shown in the apps menu. - the NEW icon is shown when browsing the aforementioned directory in Dolphin - the NEW icon is shown in folder view if I don't link but copy the desktop file from the applications menu - if I choose a new icon from the built-in KDE icons set (and not an external PNG icon), the NEW icon is EVEN shown in folder view So to sum it up all, the bug only occurs in FolderView, when LINKING a desktop entry from the apps menu containing an EXTERNAL PNG icon that was modified once. Note both PNG icons had the same name, I didn't check if it was related. Thanks a lot to everyone involved, I love the work carried out in FolderView recently ! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
