This is still a problem in 2017. I will mention that I've set Konsole to use
ctrl+pgup/pgdn and it works just fine, so that's not a problem.

The "standard" keyboard shortcuts for changing tabs that seem to be adopted by
cross-platform software (e.g. Firefox, Chromium) are ctrl+tab/shift+ctrl+tab
and ctrl+pgup/ctrl+pgdn. Also, all of GNOME software also uses
ctrl-pgup/ctrl+pgdn. We might want to therefore consider trying to standardize
on the following:

- Primary:   ctrl+tab  & shift+ctrl+tab
- Secondary: ctrl+pgup  & ctrl+pgdn


It would be great to get a discussion going on this. Whatever people agree on,
I can do the work to drive adoption across KDE apps.
