Up to now I have no possibility to test kdepim 5 on Gentoo, but testing the procedure described above with current stable kdepim 4.14.11_pre20160611 leads to an startingdate-missing task finished since 24.7 which has not vanished. If the bug has been patched I might have missed it somehow, sorry. Your request is reasonable and as I cannot reproduce it now (or anyone else) closing is the best option.
