Edinburgh is a Borough as well as being the Capital of Scotland, its Northern
border is the Firth of Forth, where it stretches from Portabello in the East,
where it meets East Lothian, to Cramond Island in the West where it meets West
Lothian. From the Forth it extends South through Gillmerton to its Southern
Border
with Midlothian.
Your map shows the Southern shore of the Forth Estuary, shows from West
Lothian, through Midlothian to East Lothian, with Midlothian dipping its toes
in the Forth.
