Are you really using Krita 2.9, or a later version? Please make sure you're
using the latest version (https://download.kde.org/unstable/krita/3.1.3-rc.1).
If you have an Intel GPU, please make sure you have the latest drivers
(https://downloadcenter.intel.com/). If you cannot figure out how to install
those drivers, try disabling opengl
