In crash in OpenCV 3.1 through face management interface.
I recommend to switch to digiKam 5, where face interface was been re-writen and
ported and fully tested with OpenCV 3.1.
You can use digiKam 5.6.0 pre version available as universal Linux AppImage
bundle here :
