I'm using this to build it: cmake ~/kf5/src/krita -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=~/kf5/inst -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=RelWithDebInfo -DBUILD_TESTING=OFF then I run it with this: export XDG_DATA_DIRS=~/kf5/inst/share:$XDG_DATA_DIRS ~/kf5/inst/bin/krita nothing too special...
