Creating the directories first is part of the copy process. And there is no
cleanup in general after an aborted copy.
If you start copying a big file with "cp" and abort it by pressing "^C" the
half-copied file stays untouched but is (most likely) useless.

I can hardly say that this is a bug. (And if at all this is only related to
frameworks-kio which used for the copy job)
