Because clicking on the wallpaper/desktop should mean that I want to go to the bare desktop. For me, it is because I have a lot of widgets on it, that would like to look at: Temp., HDD I/O, CPU, Memory, Network, etc. And when I have lots of windows open, I end-up having to minimize each, individually to get to the desktop. p.s.
