Warning during Recording
DESCRIPTION:
Video recording shows data-rate warning and writes packets with negative
duration to MP4 muxer
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect a Logitech BRIO 4K (046d:085e) to a USB 3.0 port.
2. Open Plasma Camera and start a video recording.
3. Observe the data-rate warning in the application.
4. journalctl --user shows repeated messages:
"[mp4 @ ...] Packet with invalid duration -2500 in stream 0"
`plasma-camera[5844]: [mp4 @ 0x55bc0fbcb940] Packet with invalid duration -2500
in stream 0`
OBSERVED RESULT
App shows warning when using H264.
EXPECTED RESULT
No warning; consistent frame timestamps.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Fedora Linux 44
KDE Plasma Version: 6.8.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.31.0
Qt Version: 6.11.2
Kernel Version: 7.2.15-200.fc44.x86_64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-3450S CPU @ 2.80GHz
Memory: 24 GiB of RAM (23.4 GiB usable)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I am aware that the App is considered to be for plasma mobile, but it is
provided via discover. Therefore I'd assume that it should work. Note the
warning disappears, when switching to MJPG, but the quality is rather poor.
Also note that the camera works flawlessly with KDE Kamera App and Kamoso (but
lacks some settings in comparison to Plasma Camera App).
Thanks!
