[email protected] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #3 from [email protected] --- I can reproduce a very similar issue on Arch Linux with KDE Plasma 6.8.2 and an AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT. **System information:** - Distribution: Arch Linux - KDE Plasma: 6.8.2 - KWin: 6.8.2 - Session: Wayland - Display manager: SDDM 0.21.0 - GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB - Kernel: 7.2.14-zen1-1-zen (also reproduced with the standard Arch Linux kernel) - Mesa: 26.2.6 - Monitor: 1920×1080, HDMI, 75 Hz (also tested at 60 Hz) - HDR: Unsupported **Observed behavior:** After entering my password in SDDM, the screen goes completely black until the Plasma desktop appears. The Breeze splash screen has never appeared during login on this installation. However, both `ksplashqml` and `ksplashqml --test` display the splash screen correctly when launched manually from an already-running Wayland session. **Troubleshooting performed:** - Verified that Breeze is selected in `ksplashrc`. - Verified package integrity with `pacman -Qkk plasma-workspace kwin` (no altered files). - Confirmed that `plasma-ksplash.service` starts and exits successfully. - Reproduced the issue on a newly created user account. - Tested both the standard Arch Linux kernel and linux-zen. - Tested 60 Hz and 75 Hz. - Tested a modified Breeze splash theme with its content opacity forced to 1. - Tested a 1-second startup delay for `plasma-ksplash.service`, without improvement. **Relevant log messages:** `ksplashqml: Failed to register with host portal: Could not register app ID: Connection already associated with an application ID` During some login attempts, KWin also reported: `Modeset failed: Invalid argument` `Applying output configuration failed: Invalid argument` The AMDGPU kernel driver repeatedly logged: `Unsupported screen format RA24 little-endian (0x34324152)` I cannot confirm whether these DRM errors are directly related to the invisible splash screen. This appears similar to the issue described here, although I have not tested a 2-second startup delay. Please let me know if any additional logs or debugging information would help identify the cause. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
