Mladen Milinkovic, Max <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|REPORTED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |INTENTIONAL --- Comment #1 from Mladen Milinkovic, Max <[email protected]> --- Thank you for the report. So this is not quite accurate > The AppImage ignores QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt5ct (and QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE) on > desktops other than MATE, Ubuntu GNOME and KDE (XFCE in my case). The app > always starts with the Oxygen style and a light palette, even though the > AppImage bundles libqt5ct.so and libqt5ct-style.so. It ignores QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME and QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE on ALL platforms other than KDE only in AppImage. The reason that it was done was due to various desktop environments (or maybe style engines) not implementing things correctly (or missing things) the app would launch with weird colors (black text on black, white text on white), missing icons and similar strange issues. AppImage is not bundling all (KDE's) themes and icons that could solve those issues to save size. So I don't intend to change this as it will likely cause breakage to other users and a bunch of bug reports that I don't have time to tackle. So I see two ways out of this (as you have already mentioned): 1. define XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=kde along with other two style overrides before running AppImage 2. use your distribution's binary instead of the AppImage Hope that makes sense. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
