            Bug ID: 528333
Summary: Minimap panel remains visible even when the document
                    does not require vertical scrolling
    Classification: Applications
           Product: kate
      Version First 26.08.2
       Reported In:
          Platform: Arch Linux
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: kwrite
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When the scrollbar minimap is enabled, the minimap panel remains visible and
occupies horizontal space even when the document has very few lines and does
not require vertical scrolling (i.e., when the standard scrollbar thumb is
hidden).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open KWrite or Kate.
2. Enable the scrollbar minimap in Settings -> Configure KWrite/Kate ->
Appearance -> Borders -> "Show scrollbar mini-map" (if not already enabled).
3. Create a new document or open a file with only a few lines of text (fewer
lines than the window height).

OBSERVED RESULT
The minimap area remains permanently visible on the right side of the editor,
taking up horizontal screen space even though all text fits within the viewport
and there is nothing to scroll.

EXPECTED RESULT
The minimap should automatically hide (or collapse) when the document content
is shorter than the view height and vertical scrolling is unnecessary, matching
the behavior of an auto-hiding scrollbar.
