--- Comment #12 from Éric Brunet <[email protected]> ---
Hi!

I have the exact same issue on my computer:
* fedora 43
* kde plasma 6.7.5
* kde frameworks 6.30
* qt 6.10.3
* content of .config/kxkbrc
---------------------------------------
[$Version]
update_info=kxkb.upd:remove-empty-lists,kxkb.upd:add-back-resetoptions,kxkb_variants.upd:split-variants

[Layout]
DisplayNames=,
LayoutList=fr,gr
Options=terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp,nbsp:level2,compose:rctrl,grp:lwin_switch
ResetOldOptions=true
SwitchMode=Window
Use=true
VariantList=oss,polytonic
------------------------------------------

When pressing and holding lwin, pressing and releasing f, releasing lwin and
then pressing and releasing again f, I expect the system to gives me φf (and to
be in french mode for the subsequent keypresses).
* This is what happens if I am running under Xorg, or if I am in a Xorg-only
application under wayland (tested on xterm).
* In a wayland application under wayland (konsole, thunderbird, kwrite, ...),
this gives me φφ: the keyboard remains stuck in greek mode. In need to press
and release again the lwin key to be in french mode.

I did try to apply to xwayland the patch suggest by Matthias Blaicher, but it
made no difference to me (this was on top of
xorg-x11-server-Xwayland-24.1.14-1, and the patch applied with some fuzziness).
But I don't understand why it should make a difference anyway. Does
kwin-wayland rely on Xorg to interpret key modifiers?

I am reopening this bug report.
