Can't we use `dimming` as visible by running `kscreen-doctor -o`? This is
separate from `brightness` and seems to be primarily used to darken the screen
before the screen turns off for power saving.

You can try it out with `kscreen-doctor output.<output_id>.dimming.0`, replace
`<output_id>` with actual output ID, for me it both `kscreen-doctor
output.HDMI-A-2.dimming.0` and `kscreen-doctor output.1.dimming.0` work.

On one monitor that doesn't really go low enough with hardware brightness there
is an option for it to toggle between hardware and software brightness, of
course software you can push lower, but hardware keeps better colors and
affects power consumption directly.

When it's set up to use software brightness, seems like dimming and brightness
roughly change the same thing - they are not additive, but override each other
instead.

Obviously it would be nice if this dimming was accessible both from "Brightness
& Color" panel and by keyboard shortcuts. At first I was thinking extra slider
would be nice (maybe enabled as an opt-in), but the thing is there is no reason
to lower software brightness if hardware brightness can be lowered, and there
is no reason to increase hardware brightness if it software brightness can be
increased, thus both of them should be on one slider. Maybe we could use a
notch in the middle to indicate transition between software and hardware
brightness.

We could display 0% software brightness as -100% brightness, 100% software
brightness as 0% brightness and 100% hardware brightness as 100% brightness,
but maybe that won't be clear enough to the users and we still should always
display both.

Still this might need to be opt-in behind a toggle, as most people won't need
software brightness that degrade colors.
