[email protected] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #24 from [email protected] --- I created an account just to +1 this issue. I was not aware of the switch from sddm to plasma login manager and I've been pulling my hair out about why sddm themes had no effect. My use case is that I use FreeIDP and have a number of users who actually login, and a local user account who is used for troubleshooting and administration. The effect of this bug is that *only* my local user appears in the login manager, and it is impossible for any real user in the domain to login at all. I am unable to use this at all. Domain users are completely unable to log in until this bug is fixed. Guys... the idea of listing users and showing an icon next to them only works well in some conditions. It works when the computer is used by only one person, or if there are fewer than maybe four or five people in a household. Think about what happens in an office with a directory with a few hundred users. Unless you want to either scroll through dozens (or hundreds) of account images, or simply don't allow logins from domain accounts. There are *so many* environments where accounts are served out of a directory. It seems like such a silly assumption KDE will only be installed on the family computer from the 90s. Besides this obvious use case, I can think of a few others. In the past, my solution with SDDM was to install a different theme, but with plasma login manager even this workaround is not possible. Please consider adding a tickbox to allow users to type in their username instead of scrolling through face icons. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
