--- Comment #6 from briktor <[email protected]> ---
I can confirm this with a different setup, also on an RX 9070 XT.

System:
- KWin 6.8.0 and 6.8.1, Wayland, CachyOS
- Mesa 26.2.5 (RADV)
- Kernel 7.3.0, and also reproduced on 6.18.55 LTS
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT
- DP-2: LG UltraFine, 3840x2160@60, HDR + WCG enabled, scale 1.5, VRR not
supported
- DP-3: BenQ XL2730Z, 2560x1440@144 (portrait), VRR automatic

Fullscreen games on DP-2 via Proton/DXVK became very choppy, visibly well below
30 fps, with heavy input lag, as soon as no cursor was visible on DP-2. That
happened both when the game hides the cursor and when the cursor is moved over
to DP-3. MangoHud kept showing a stable 60 fps, so the game keeps presenting;
it's the delivery to the screen that stalls. Whenever a cursor is visible on
DP-2, it runs perfectly smooth.

First noticed one day after upgrading from KWin 6.7.5 to 6.8.0.

Switching DP-2 from "prefer efficiency" to "prefer accuracy" fixes it
completely and immediately, without restarting anything.

Things that did NOT help:
- KWIN_DRM_NO_DIRECT_SCANOUT=1
- disabling HDR on DP-2
- disabling "allow tearing in fullscreen"
- running DP-3 at 60 Hz
- PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1
- different Proton builds (proton-cachyos 11, Proton Hotfix)
- forcing GPU clocks to high (power_dpm_force_performance_level)
- LTS kernel 6.18
- DXVK dxgi.syncInterval = 0

I haven't tried KWIN_DRM_NO_AMS=1, since the accuracy setting already fixed it.
