Bug ID: 527581
Summary: Flickr export plugin fails to start uploading photos
Classification: Applications
Product: digikam
Version First 9.1.0
Reported In:
Platform: Ubuntu
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Plugin-WebService-Flickr
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
Uploading the photos to Flickr stopped working (22/Oct/2026) - I was using it
daily without problems until today.
I am aware of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=527578 "Flickr export plugin
fails OAuth authorization with HTTP 502 (Bad Gateway)" - it might be related
but I am submitting a separate bug because I believe in my case the plugin
successfully authenticates with Flickr (see below).
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select some photos
2. Choose "Export/Export to Flickr..."
3. Accept existing Flickr account by pressing OK
OBSERVED RESULT
An attempt to upload photos to Flickr fails straight after choosing a Flickr
account with a message box:
"Error transferring https://www.flickr.com/services/rest/ - server replied with
status code 502"
EXPECTED RESULT
Successful upload.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
digiKam: 9.1.0
KDE Frameworks: 6.29.0
Qt: Using 6.10.3 and built against 6.10.3
Flatpak
KDE Flatpak runtime (Wayland)
Build ABI: x86_64-little_endian-lp64
Kernel: linux 6.8.0-147-generic
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I have run the program with "Internal Debug" option enabled. Below is the
output leading to the GUI error:
```
O1::setSignatureMethod: "HMAC-SHA256"
O0BaseAuth::setLocalPort: 80
digikam.webservices: Group name is: "FlickrxxxxxxxExport Settings"
digikam.webservices: Public status set to true
digikam.webservices: Public status set to true
digikam.webservices: Public status set to true
digikam.webservices: Public status set to true
O1::link
O0BaseAuth::linked: Yes
O1::link: Linked already
O0BaseAuth::linked: Yes
digikam.webservices: LINK to Flickr ok
digikam.webservices: SlotLinkingSucceeded invoked setting user Display name to
"xxxxxxx"
digikam.webservices: Group name is: "FlickrxxxxxxxExport Settings"
digikam.webservices: Group name is: "FlickrxxxxxxxExport Settings"
O0BaseAuth::linked: Yes
digikam.webservices: List photoset invoked
```
At this point the GUI shows the error "Error transferring
https://www.flickr.com/services/rest/ - server replied with status code 502"
I have checked the Flickr API status, it is fine. I have also used my Flickr
credentials and an online Flickr tool to confirm that I can in fact invoke the
"List photoset" endpoint - it works fine.
