Bug ID: 527446
Summary: Klipper clears text selection in GTK3 apps on X11
(GnuCash autocomplete highlight cleared on 2nd
keystroke)
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.3.6
Reported In:
Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]

Target Milestone: 1.0
Plasma 6.3.6 on X11. GnuCash 5.16 (Flathub), a GTK3 app.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open GnuCash and go to a register's Notes field.
2. Type one character. GnuCash autocompletes and highlights the suggested
remainder.
3. Type a second character.
Expected: the highlighted suggestion is replaced or refined as you type.
Actual: the highlight clears but the suggested characters remain in the field.
Notes:
- Does not happen when the same Flatpak runs under a MATE session.
- Setting GTK_IM_MODULE=gtk-im-context-simple and XMODIFIERS= made no
difference.
- "Selection and clipboard" sync is unchecked, and "Non-text selection" is set
to never save in history. Neither helped.
- Disabling the Clipboard entry in System Tray settings fixes the problem
completely, so Klipper's selection monitoring appears to interfere with the
PRIMARY selection used by the autocomplete highlight.
