--- Comment #15 from [email protected] --- Same bug here on Fedora 44 (plasma-discover 6.7.5-1.fc44, plasma-workspace 6.7.5, kwin 6.7.5). Offline updates are enabled, and "Restart" is chosen in Discover before pressing Update. Two data points that may help. 1. Discover sent logoutAndReboot THREE times, not two. Session-bus capture of a failing run on 2026-10-19 is attached. Times are UTC. 14:31:20.636 logoutAndReboot 14:31:20.697 logoutAndReboot 14:31:22.085 logoutAndReboot (1.4 s after the first two) plasma-shutdown then: * called closeSession three times; * called closeWaylandWindows three times; * got org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Failed "Operation already in progress" from KWin on the 2nd and 3rd calls; * called resetLogout. The journal shows "plasma-shutdown: KWin failed to complete logout" at the same moment. 2. The failure is intermittent on 6.7.5, not deterministic. plasma-discover 6.7.5 was installed here on 2026-09-10. Discover-initiated restarts (org.kde.Shutdown started without a LogoutPrompt, then "The system will reboot now!") still succeeded on Sep 14, 15, 21 and 30 and on Oct 10. >From Sep 23 onward, "KWin failed to complete logout" appears 12 times (most recently the captured run), each a few seconds after Discover's restart request. This fits a race: whether a later duplicate call lands while the first closeWaylandWindows is still pending. The staged update always installs fine after a manual restart. The log analysis was done with AI assistance. The data is from my own system. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
