Description:
I am using KDE Plasma on Arch Linux with a Wayland session.
I would like to configure the following mouse shortcuts to switch between
virtual desktops:
- `Meta + Mouse Button 4`: Switch to the previous virtual desktop.
- `Meta + Mouse Button 5`: Switch to the next virtual desktop.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open System Settings → Keyboard → Shortcuts.
2. Find the KWin shortcuts for switching to the next and previous virtual
desktops.
3. Attempt to assign Meta + Mouse Button 4 and Meta + Mouse Button 5.
4. Try to use these combinations to switch desktops.
Expected result:
KWin should allow these mouse-button combinations to be assigned as global
shortcuts and switch virtual desktops accordingly.
Actual result:
The combinations cannot be configured or do not work as expected.
Additional information:
Mouse side buttons work in other contexts, but I cannot use them together with
the Meta key for global virtual desktop navigation.
Please consider supporting mouse buttons as part of configurable global
shortcuts in KWin.
Environment:
- Distribution: Arch Linux
- Desktop: KDE Plasma 6.7.0
- Display server: Wayland
- Mouse: Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed
