**Description:**
I would like to report a possible performance regression in Kdenlive's video
rendering process, particularly on low-end PCs.
When I used the first release of Kdenlive 2026, rendering videos took only a
few minutes. However, after updating to version 26.04.3, I noticed a
significant decrease in rendering performance. Tasks that previously took only
a few minutes now take several hours to complete, even with relatively simple
video projects.
I understand that this issue may have already been fixed in a newer update, but
I wanted to report my experience with version 26.04.3 in case this regression
has not yet been addressed.
**Steps to Reproduce:**
1. Open a relatively simple video project in Kdenlive 26.04.3.
2. Configure the rendering settings and start rendering the video.
3. Compare the rendering time with that of the first Kdenlive 2026 release
using the same project and settings.
**Observed Results:**
Rendering takes significantly longer in version 26.04.3 than it did in the
earlier release. On low-end hardware, rendering times can increase from a few
minutes to several hours.
**Expected Results:**
Rendering performance should remain reasonably consistent across releases, and
simple projects should not take disproportionately longer to render on low-end
hardware.
I hope the development team can investigate this potential performance
regression and find ways to improve rendering performance, especially for users
with older or less powerful PCs.
