Okular setup (new files in tabs, new application instance launched via the
taskbar)

DESCRIPTION

I frequently open multiple Okular instances (currently 5, with 1 to 5 tabs per
window) to make the most of my "screen real estate" on my 13" laptop in
fullscreen mode, but also use of the application windows with tabs to sort some
of the files by topic.

When I try to add new keybindings in this setup, saving them does not seem to
take (persistent) effect. They are only usable for a very brief moment, before
they are reset to the previous state. I suppose, that there is an issue with
the synchronization of the setting state between the application instances, s.
t. the newer changes are lost. This (occasionally) also seems to affect
bookmarks.

I haven't comprehensively checked yet how the settings / keybindings /
bookmarks are stored and where the respective file is allocated. It should be
possible to use a memory mapped file to store the settings (and bookmarks)
persistently and add a timestamp for the last change, such that application
instances can check for changes and apply them when they are refocused. Usually
I'd like to be able to change keybindings for frequently used functions
globally, no matter which application instance I'm currently using. I'd also
check whether there is a singleton in place for this purpose.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a file in Okular (with multiple files).
2. Open a second Okular instance.
3. Add / Change a keybinding (e.g. for highlighting).
4. Use the keybinding (works at first).
5. Do something else for a brief time.
6. Try again using the keybinding (does not work anymore).
7. Check the keybindings (setting is gone).

(This might also depend on which application instance is used to change the
setting, haven't checked this yet either.)

OBSERVED RESULT

- Keybindings are non-functional after a brief time.
- Bookmarks are gone after relaunching / reopening a file.

EXPECTED RESULT

- Settings / Keybindings should be globally synchronized across all application
instances (persistently).
- Bookmarks should also be synchronized, even when a file is opened in
different windows at the same time.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Okular: 26.08.1
KDE Frameworks: 6.30.0
Qt: 6.11.1 wird verwendet und gebaut wurde mit 6.11.1
Windows 11 Version 26H2
Build ABI: x86_64-little_endian-llp64

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

(I might try fixing it myself later / provide a patch if I do, might take a bit
though).
