--- Comment #6 from [email protected] <[email protected]> ---
I have had some time to check v9.2.0 from the link, this is not a thorough
test, though.
It seems better but it is still not really usable at times as there is all
kinds of background loading happening, so it seems.
For instance: right click a person node to get the menu. The menu is shown, the
spinner kicks in and the program freezes for ages. I would not expect anything
special to happen. And this problem is amplified when you choose a node with a
lot of images in them or one of the top ones.
The "Active process" indicater shows: "No active proces".
I have left this state to see how long it takes and after some minutes (more
than 5) a dialog appears for the properties of the tag. But the spinner is
still active so no action can be taken. Again: I only chose the right mouse
button on the node.
I left this state which took at least 7 minutes.

Example:
Node with 15216 new faces: click the node. Takes +4 min before the first images
are shown at that time the spinner disappears and disappears while the images
are loading. This jumpy behaviour continues for several minutes. Scrolling down
shows similar behaviour and it takes some time before images are shown, only
empty placeholders are shown immediately.
It seems that all images are loading or buffered while only a limit number can
be shown. It would be a big improvement if the loading takes that into account.
It is wasteful, I think, to try to load everything. At least it feels that way.

Checking the original report: selecting multiple images and tagging them has
improved. So when accepting some slugishness it is mostly workable. Albeit some
action may freeze the UI again.

If there is something specific I can check: let me know.
