--- Comment #3 from Méven <[email protected]> ---
> KDE Frameworks Version: 6.30.0

Thanks for the details, they explain it. The hover tooltip asks for a 512 pixel
preview times your
display scale. Above 200% scaling that is larger than the biggest thumbnail
size the cache stores (1024
pixels). In Frameworks 6.30 the thumbnail was then saved with no folder, so it
landed in Dolphin's
working folder, your home.

This is fixed in Frameworks 6.31 (commit 9dc6216c9), which is already released
(KF 6.31), so the files will stop
appearing once your distribution ships it.

Could you confirm that your display scale is above 200%?

To remove the files it left behind, check what matches first:
find ~ -maxdepth 1 -regextype egrep -regex '.*/[0-9a-f]{32}\.png'
and if the list only has those thumbnails, add -delete at the end.

When reporting an issue, I would recommend you test using the latest possible
version you have available.
Without your distro I can't tell.
