Bug ID: 527275
Summary: Whenever my monitor goes to sleep all maximized
windows resized and part of them is now hidden behind
the panel.
Classification: Plasma
Product: kwin
Version First 6.7.5
Reported In:
Platform: CachyOS
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
Whenever my monitor goes to sleep all maximized windows resized and part of
them is now hidden behind the panel.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. create a panel at the bottom of the screen. no auto-hiding and always
visible
2. maximize a window (it should use all available screen space except the space
occupied by the panel)
3. wait for your monitor to go to powersave and until it shuts off
4. move your mouse to wake the monitor
OBSERVED RESULT
the maximized window has been resized and is now bigger. it now occupies the
whole monitor. it is behind the panel so part of it (eg statusbar) are no
longer visible. it is still marked as maximize. restoring and maximizing it
again fixes the problem and the window has the correct size again
EXPECTED RESULT
when a monitor wakes up all windows should be the same size as they have been
before it goes to sleep
